So most of the series are hitting their 11th episodes this week. You know what that means? Final Reviews!
I’ve been a little crunched on time and preparing for mechacon in New Orleans. Combined with work and daily life and time has just vanished. I have also been watching some older series I haven’t seen in a while instead of catching up on all the new anime. Honestly I’ve been keeping up on shows I really like and that it.
I tried to catch up on Photokano and realized I just haven’t been in the mood for that genre. Nothing against the show, it is cute, but nothing new to me. In hindsight, like many anime, you know the scenario playing out never will happen. I would love to think because I got a new camera and join a photography club I would meet lots of hot girls. Reality check, you more run off as a creeper. It falls under the “harem” or “find a girlfriend” anime, more so then romance. There are a few shots of comedy, but I would label this more as a fan service. Its hard to pull into anime like theses where there is not distracting action, tons of comedy, or a cleaver build like Amagami SS. The girls are cute, but honestly the photography members run off as annoying. I am probably going to try to catch up on another anime before sitting down and “getting through” this one.
Aside from that a show I do love is Yuyushiki. Being I have been in a easy going mood, this show fits the bill perfectly. Yuyushiki is a goofy slice of life anime. You follow Yui and her two friends as they discuss “random” observations and keep the “Data Processing Club” alive. They enjoy word play and talking with “Kasan” about her life. A few other people are drawn to Yui do to her “Easy to Pick On” nature, however they are also prepared to be whacked for doing so. I enjoy the comedy for what it is. You do not need to really follow much in the show and can start pretty much at any episode (but at least watch 1 to understand the background). If you are looking for a simple and cute show I would say pick it up for the end. PS – The ending theme has a super cute intro.
So I’ll keep watching. I’ll probably finish up Love Hina and start my grind this weekend. I am hoping some shows can take a good turn where I feel they are derailing. The final 3 episodes are upon us and the final arcs are rolling!
