Hello Everyone! Happy New Year!

I apologize about our long session of AWOL as we have had a lot going on in our personal lives and trying to get back on track. We are working on our Final Reviews and also preparing for all the new anime about to come out! Keep up to date by check out our Winter and Fall Sections as we get things posted (I’ll get a sticky up!).

So here’s a few thoughts on Winter 2013 Overall:

Personally I was not super impressed by the Fall Season. A lot of fan service and sport oriented anime, but for the most part I felt it was the “variety” season. I feel there was at least one or two anime for each person, but the whole season wouldn’t mass appeal. This variety I felt back fired on people looking for a large chunk of anime to watch. I won’t lie, I wasn’t in a “serious” mode when it came to anime this season, thus Non Non Buiyori was right up my alley. Regardless here is a quick run down of my thoughts on a few of the Fall Anime:

Coppelion – was beautiful, but didn’t capture me the way I thought.

Kyoukai no Kanata. Goldentime, Little Busters, and Nai no Asukara were solid, but more serious of a tone than I wanted to deal with most of the time. All of them are quality anime easily worth a (7) in the ratings. Remember, I just haven’t been in the mode for “drama” with my anime.

Strike the Blood – I felt it met all your needs for a good Action anime, with the comedy kick. It is a bit violent at times and solid watch if you want a decent story to boot.

Kill la Kill – Lived up to its hype in my mind, delivering possibly the best anime of Fall 2013

Infinite Stratos 2, Yuusha, Freezing 2, Sekai de Ichiban, and Walkure Romanze were all different “genres” per say, but pretty came down to hardcore fan service.

Walkure was too run of the mil to get a hard nod, even though I enjoyed the design.

Sekai – All I have to say is “Really?”

Freezing – Lost me in its first season, solid premise but the boobage just throws me off.

IS2 – was all for the fans, it felt very similar to Kore no Zombie 2. Mainly giving fans more material with  more of the girls you love, but not progressing the story much.

Yuusha – Actually a pretty fun series, I felt it would have been a higher rating for me if they kept the fan service in control. I can honestly say it hurt it.

Yozakura Quartet – Would have a solid argument for best of the Winter Season if they narrated the story better. I don’t feel you “need” to watch the first run and OVA’s, but it does open up the characters even more. It’s still a solid anime which was close to an “8” in my book.

I did enjoy Samurai Flamenco, Galilei Donna, Gingitsune, and Unbreakable Machine-Doll were all fun in their own right. I would label this season as pick and choose. A lot of fun shows to pick up, but if your in a certain mood you may find your selection limited. If you were in a drama mode, I think you’ll find your fill. If your looking for simple and light, Fall was not the season for you.I Keep in mind about 12 of the currently airing anime are continuing onward (not counting anime that just… keeps… going).

A few good reasons I am looking forward to Winter 2014:

Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai! Ren

Sakura Trick (Yuri) anime after a an overlord of Shoujo aimed pretty boy anime.

Space Dandy (Enough Said)
